When you use the Pet Foster App, we may collect the following information:

- Email address
- Address, State, Zip Code
- Pet care logs and task confirmations
- Profile and pet images (when uploaded)
- In-app messages between shelters and fosters
- Subscription status (Free Account or Hero Account)
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Provide app functionality and a personalized user experience
- Enable secure messaging and foster–shelter coordination
- Allow shelters to manage pet listings, foster assignments, and task tracking
- Support subscription features (when applicable)
We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing or analytics purposes.
3. Plans, Pet Visibility, and Limits
The Pet Foster App offers different plans for shelters. Features and limits may depend on the plan:
- Free Account: Up to 40 pets can be marked as Visible (active) at a time.
- Hero Account: An unlimited visible pets option is being developed and may be released in a future update.
If you exceed the Free Account limit, the app may prevent additional pets from being marked Visible until you are within the allowed limit or until a subscription feature supporting higher limits is available.
4. Platform Role (No Background Checks / No Monitoring)
The Pet Foster App provides tools to help shelters and fosters communicate and coordinate foster care. The Pet Foster App does not perform background checks on shelters, fosters, or any users.
We also do not actively monitor, review, verify, or guarantee user activity, pet listings, messages, or other content submitted through the app. Users are responsible for the accuracy, safety, and legality of the information they provide and the actions they take outside the app.
If you believe content or behavior is unsafe, inappropriate, illegal, or violates your rights, please contact us at contact@petfoster-app.com so we can review reports and take action where appropriate.
5. Device Permissions
The app requests access to your device's photo gallery only when you upload images. We do not request access to your camera, location, contacts, or microphone.
6. Data Storage and Security
All personal data is stored securely using Google Firebase Firestore and Firebase Storage. Access is restricted to authenticated users. We take reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorized access or disclosure.
7. Your Rights and Data Control
You may request to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or outdated information
- Delete your account and associated data

8. Children’s Privacy
The Pet Foster App is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that personal data has been collected from a minor, we will delete that information promptly. 9. Legal Compliance
We comply with applicable privacy laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), where applicable.
